The Honors Curriculum

A Curriculum for Tomorrow's Leaders

The Honors College has an exciting curriculum that will prepare all of our graduates to be the next generation of leaders – both in the U.S. and around the world. Whether your future includes attending professional or graduate school, or beginning your career, completing the Honors College requirements will provide the passport to a world of great options.

This curriculum applies to students entering the Honors College in and after fall semester 2008. (Students entering Honors prior to fall 2008 have a different set of guidelines. Please talk to an Honors advisor if you have questions about your specific Honors requirements.) The Honors thesis is the capstone experience in the curriculum. Honors courses include...

  • introductory courses with research preparation in all disciplines
  • case studies on key global issues of our time
  • advanced work in both oral and written communication in English as well as a second language

WSU continues to accept Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and Running Start credits completed in high school. The Honors College curriculum extends limited credits for these courses. No substitution credit will be allowed for the core curriculum—UH courses—or English 298. You are encouraged to contact an advisor in the Honors College if you have questions on this topic.

It is the goal of the Honors College to challenge the most capable students who attend Washington State University.
