Your thesis will be evaluated by three people: your thesis advisor and thesis reviewer, plus one Honors-chosen reviewer from the WSU academic community.
The Honors-chosen reviewer may or may not be from your discipline, so critical factors for your success are a very clear précis and a great oral presentation.
The reviewers will use the "Thesis Evaluation Rubric" to score your written thesis document and your oral presentation. Understanding the rubric will make you aware of how your work will be evaluated.
Grading
Your advisor and the two reviewers will consider your written and oral presentation. Students are graded with "excellent," "pass," "needs major/minor revision," or "fail." Students that ...
- are judged to have exemplary theses may have their theses nominated for "Pass with Distinction" designation
- receive "needs major/minor revision" have 2-3 weeks to make all corrections, get approval of the changes, and resubmit 1 new copy of the thesis
- receive "fail" will need to complete the thesis to the satisfaction of the advisor and the Honors College, and submit 1 new copy
