The Written Thesis

Your written thesis and oral presentation demonstrate that you have done, created, or discovered something significant, something that may make a difference in a particular field or give people a new way to think about a theory, text, author, process, etc.

Use your thesis as an opportunity to explain what you have created, discovered, or learned. Describe its significance within the context of the pertinent academic discipline. Use writing and research conventions appropriate for that discipline.

The written document must follow format requirements (including a précis) and submission requirements.

NOTE: A Thesis Evaluation Rubric is available in the Forms and Examples section of this Web site for your information, but it is not to be printed and included as part of the written thesis.
