Honors Student Rachel Kliewer Named CCE "Service Star Winner" for March 2008
Each month Washington State University’s Center of Civic Engagement (CCE) recognizes a student who has shown exemplary commitment to service by recognizing them as “Service Star Winners.” Rachel Kliewer, an Honors junior majoring in psychology, was nominated by staff at the campus Building Blocks Childcare Center where Kliewer volunteers and was chosen as the Service Star Winner for March. Twelve Honors College Students Participate in College of Sciences 2008 Undergraduate Poster Competition; Bates, Serratore, and Vargo Win Awards
With research on topics ranging from the growth of crystal gypsum to primers used in fish identification, 12 students in the Washington State University Honors College were among the total of 54 presenting in the 2008 College of Sciences Undergraduate Poster Competition April 4 at the Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum. Four Honors Students Top Winners in WSU Libraries Research Awards
Pullman, Wash. -- Four Honors College students have landed top places in the WSU Libraries second annual Student Research Excellence Awards on the Pullman campus. They are seniors Alison Kirpes (tied for first place), and Molly Boers, Haley Paul, and Rachel Waniata (runners-up). All submitted their Honors thesis papers. More>>

Senior Robbie Cowgill Named PAC-10 Scholar-Athlete of Year 2008
Honors senior Robbie Cowgill has earned another accolade that combines his excellence in both sports and studies. At the opening round of the PAC-10 Tournament in Los Angeles March 12, Cowgill was named the Toyo Tire Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. More>>

Western Regional Honors Council Welcomes Six WSU Student Presenters to April Annual Conference

Three Honors Students Participate in Mock Trial Competition
At February’s Pacific Northwest Regional American Mock Trial Tournament at the University of Portland, three student teams from Washington State University argued court cases against such schools as Gonzaga University, Stanford University, the University of California-Berkeley, Weber State, and Reed College. WSU Honors College students Christopher Han, Robert Colbert, and Jared Reams represented WSU well. More>>
