Honors Faculty Rachel Halverson Receives Washington Teaching Service Award

PULLMAN, Wash.—Washington State University Honors College faculty member Rachel Halverson will receive the Washington Association of Foreign Language Teachers (WFLT) award for Continued Distinguished Service at the fall conference Oct. 9 in Spokane.

The certificate is presented to those whose contributions to the world language profession has been unflagging and have enjoyed widespread impact, according to a WFLT announcement.

Halverson has been an Honors faculty member since 2000 and a college administrator in 2007-8.  She is an associate professor of German in the Dept. of Foreign Languages and Cultures.  She presented the Honors Student Advisory Council Invited Lecture in spring  2009.  And, she received in November 2008 the prestigious Ray Verzasconi Northwest Postsecondary Teaching of the Year Award.  She received the Honors College Faculty Award in 2002.
