PULLMAN, Wash. -WSU Honors College sophomore Katie Gillespie, journalism major from Spokane Valley, will be the chief editor of The Daily Evergreen for the fall 2012 semester. Gillespie was one of five candidates competing for the position. The decision was made by a selection panel.
WSU Honors College's Katie Gillespie Named Editor of "The Daily Evergreen"
With less than two years at WSU under her belt, Gillespie has already made her mark on the newspaper. She has served as a reporter, columnist, copy editor, assistant section editor, and photographer.
Gillespie is currently studying abroad in Morocco, from where she continues to write pieces for The Daily Evergreen about her experiences. She has interned with the Pacific Northwest Inlander and the Spokesman Review, both based in Spokane.
