Richard McKinney Honors College Study Abroad Scholarship

Richard W. McKinney graduated from the WSU College of Business in 1973 and entered the U.S. Air Force, which launched a successful career in public service.

Though he was raised in a small town in western Washington, Lacey, Rich has traveled and worked extensively throughout the world.  He has learned the importance of obtaining an education which extends beyond the borders of WSU and the U.S.

Rich serves as a WSU Foundation Trustee, on the Board of Advisors of the College of Business, and is a member of the University College's Campaign Steering Committee for Undergraduate Education.  His wife, Catherine Barry, a career Foreign Service Officer, also studied and worked overseas in such places as Mexico, Korea, Canada, Cuba, Honduras, Israel, and France.

It is his hope that this fund will allow more WSU students to have international experiences.  It is his belief that studying abroad will help WSU students be more successful no matter what field of endeavor they pursue.
