Honors Classes

  • Classes are capped at 25 students.
  • The curriculum deemphasizes lecturing and testing.
  • Increased emphasis on group projects, case studies, really involved classroom discussion.
  • The classroom environment focuses on critical thinking and the development of innovative ideas.

Scholarships and Study Abroad

  • Over 90% of Honors College Students receive financial support from the Honors College.
  • Funding goes to traditional scholarships and experiential learning funds used for study abroad, research, internships, conferences, etc.
  • Each year we have Honors specific study abroad programs that have gone to Ireland, Sweden, China, Mexico, and many other places around the globe.
  • Honors College students make up a significant portion of the Distinguished Scholarship Awardees at WSU annually.

Undergraduate Research

  • Approximately 80% of Honors College students participate in undergraduate research.
  • In addition, to study abroad programs, several Honors students participate in foreign research programs every year.
  • Many Honors students publish their research while in their undergraduate program.
