Honors Student Samuel Kammerzell Highlighted at WSU Fall 2009 Commencement

Pullman, Wash.—Washington State University Honors College student and neuroscience major, Samuel Kammerzell was recognized as a “Highlight Student” at WSU’s fall 2009 commencement ceremony December 12.

Kammerzell, whose bachelor’s of science degree is from the College of Veterinary Medicine, is headed to China to marry his fiancé, whom he met on a study abroad trip to Shanghai. He will teach English to Chinese students during the time he is there. When he returns to the U.S., Kammerzell will apply to medical school for the fall 2011 admissions cycle.

He plans to pursue a career as a family practice physician and work in a rural community, and says he may do medical work overseas.

Kammerzell’s time at WSU was marked with numerous accomplishments. He held a spot on the President’s Honor Roll for academic achievements every semester, and was nominated for Pass with Distinction recognition on his Honors thesis. He was a member of the student leadership team for Campus Crusade for Christ, and held an executive leadership position with the Student Alumni Connection. He also volunteered at the Pullman Regional Hospital and was a member of WSU’s PreMed and Neuroscience student clubs.
