“Undergraduate research provides opportunities for students to explore career directions associated with their specific undergraduate major and build skill sets with hands on training utilizing the knowledge that they obtain in their classwork.

Dedicated undergraduates can contribute to the scientific knowledge base by presenting their data at scientific meetings and publishing their work in peer reviewed journals, which can reveal how impactful their work can already be to the world.”
