Honors Alumna Leslie V. Rowe, U.S. Ambassador to Mozambique, Receives WSU Alumni Achievement Award

PULLMAN, Wash.—Washington State University Honors College alumna Leslie V. Rowe is a career diplomate, currently serving as the new U.S. Ambassador to Mozambique.  On March 6, 2010, in Pullman to present the V.N. Bhatia Lecture during Honors’ 50th Anniversary celebrations, she was honored as WSU’s newest recipient of the WSU Alumni Achievement Award.

Awarded since 1970, it is the highest honor bestowed by the WSU Alumni Association Board of Directors.  It is awarded to recognize  and honor alumni who have given “outstanding service to WSU, and/or outstanding contributions to community and/or profession and/or nation.”

Presenting the award to Rowe (’70) were WSU President Emeritus Samuel H. Smith and Bob Smalley, representing the Alumni Association.
